The Sports Of Kings (or of a Pauper)
Welcome back my friends, to the blog that never ends! We're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside!
Good Tuesday evening to ya! How are you? If there's anybody out there, and if not, then I guess I'm talking to myself. And if that is the case and I really am talking to myself then "I'm fine". Thanks for asking!
Week number one of my fantasy football team went less than perfect but the experience was still pretty cool. I lost but to the best team in the league. My team score was 77 and that would have beaten 7 out of the 9 teams in the league but I guess that doesn't matter, it still shows up as 0-1 on my record. Hopefully we'll redeem ourselves this weekend. This is my first time trying the fantasy league. It puts an interesting twist on the weekly games because now, not only do I route for my favorite team (New England Patriots, it was forever the Houston Oilers but when they ceased to exist I reserved the right to change and went with my second favorite, the Patriots) but now I also route for certain players on other teams that I wouldn't normally care about. Win or lose (not true, I hate losing) it gives me something to do online other than download or record music!
I live in Michigan (it's not Hell but you can see it from here) but I have never cared for any of the state professional teams. My whole life I have been a Boston Redsox (looks like the curse just took a year off) fan my whole life, through all the tragic endings (Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner, Aaron Boone). Heartbreak after heartbreak! In football (as stated above) I loved the Houston Oilers from day one, Earl Campbell,Warren Moon, but one day they packed up and headed to Tennessee, never to return! I do route for the Titans but cannot bring myself to call them my favorite! Basketball (which is my favorite sport) belongs to the meadowlands. For inexplicable reasons the New Jersey Nets have always been my favorite. Even through all the years of being the league's doormat. And now there going to move them to Brooklyn! It shouldn't be allowed and I still have not decided whether I will still call them my favorite or not! In hockey my heart also belongs in the meadowlands as I am and always will be a New Jersey Devil! They were my first and only champions until the Bosox a couple years back!
Baseball is pretty much over for the Sox, with no hopes of the playoffs. When that happens and the Sox are no longer in contention I become a fan of ANYBODY but the Yankees!
I've probably taken up enough of your (or mine if I'm the only one listening) time for one evening so I guess I'll say goodbye! Goodnight America..............wherever you are!
